Caring for a Duvet and Duvet Cover
Just a few simple suggestions can keep your duvet and duvet cover fresh, comfortable and ready for use for quite some time.
Each morning be sure to fluff and shake the duvet. Try to make sure that the filling material weather it’s true feathers or polyfill is evenly distributed.
By using a duvet cover the duvet itself will rarely need cleaning. It will stay clean for months if kept in a duvet cover.
If you do need to wash your duvet most recommend a large commercial washing machine instead of dry cleaning as the chemicals used may damage the filling material.
Drying a duvet in a dryer requires you to stop it from time to time to shake and break up any wet clumps of the filler material. Use low heat.
After washing and drying, you may wish to let it air outside for 24 hours to ensure that it’s dry before replacing it on the bed.
To care for the duvet cover:
Wash and care as the manufacturer of the duvet cover has suggested. Usually there will be a tag on the duvet cover or instructions when you first purchased it on how it should be cleaned and cared for.
